The founder and managing partner of AL Armouti Law Firm. A Licensed Jordanian Lawyer with over 23 years of commercial law practice experience in Jordan and the Middle East region with extensive experience in trade policies, WTO, trade remedies, free trade, intellectual property, antitrust, and corporate regulation.
He obtained his experience from various positions he occupied throughout his professional career. He previously worked with reputable multinational law firms in Jordan and the UAE and also served in the Jordanian public sector as the director of the National Production Protection (NPPD); the authority investigating anti-dumping, anti-subsidies, and safeguards cases, where he was responsible for establishing and training the authority then spearheaded its operations for seven years and successfully administered numerous trade remedy investigations and represented Jordan's government at the WTO committees of anti-dumping, subsidies and countervailing measures, and safeguards. During his work as the director of NPPD, Baha'a was also the assistant secretary-general of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. He was in charge of Jordan's subsidy programs, supervised trade policies and free trade agreements. He also supervised the work of the competition and intellectual property authorities.
Mr. Armouti established AL Armouti Law Firm in 2007 and has been the managing partner of the firm since its inception. He has represented international companies in numerous trade remedy and appeal proceedings in Jordan, Egypt, and the GCC such as; ceramic tiles from India and China (GCC-AD), Rubber Tyres from India China and Indonesia (Egypt-AD), Electrodes from China and Turkey (Egypt -AD), Steel (GCC-SG), Potato Chips (Jordan-SG), Clinker Cement (Jordan-SG), and White Cement ( Jordan-SG).
Baha'a had a major role in the establishment, operation, and access of several successful industries in Jordan and the region in various sectors such as cement and coil sheets. He also had a key role in the acquisition of several cement plants in Jordan and Iraq. He also contributed to the review of trade remedy policies and legislations in Saudi Arabia.
Baha’a received his LLB from the University of Jordan and his LLM in commercial law from the University of Aberdeen. He is an advanced lecturer and trainer on WTO, trade policies, trade remedies, intellectual property and competition law and has numerous publications on these areas of laws.
